For our medical image segmentation unit, we were tasked to choose a body part and analyze an actual patient's CT scan. Using ITK snap, which is a software that allows the viewing of all angles of CT scans, I carefully picked out the heart and a small amount of it's sorrounding area. Then from this, I used another software called MeshMixer. It allowed me to smooth out the imperfections from CT scan to STL conversion process, which I then 3D printed.
